Patients at Ijenda Hospital are being operated on by a team from Doctors Without Vacation. The team, who are on a two week placement at the Ijenda Hospital, consists of an orthopaedic surgeon and a nurse. All patients were selected by Handicap International and come from all over the country. Due to a lack of trained medical staff these operations are very rare in Burundi. In 15 days the team will operate on 46 patients.
