Music videos are becoming increasingly important as a meas of promotion, yet some of the most outspoken bands have suffered airplay bans imposed on their songs by government owned Sierra Leonean Broadcasting service (SLBS).  A new musical genre combining rap, Hip-Hop rhythms and protest lyrics has emerged in Sierra Leone following the brutal ten year long civil war.
