Men flee from a charging bull at the annual Jallikattu bull run. The highlight of the festivities is when men attempt to mount and 'tame' an enraged bull in order to grab a decoration from its specially sharpened horns. Anyone who succeeds in doing so can win one of a range of prizes, including the top prize of a bicycle. Each year the bull run results in many injuries and even deaths. The event is an integral part of Pongal, the Tamil New Year/Harvest Festival.
