A roadside commemoration stone for the Soloheadbeg Ambush. On 21 January 1919 a horse drawn cart carrying blasting gelignite was ambushed on its way to Soloheadbeg Quarry. The two accompanying policemen were shot dead in what is considered to be the first engagement of the Irish War of Independence.
