The Forsaka Nursery, in Jalin village, is a new pilot initiative set up by Fauna and Flora International (FFI) which will benefit over 300 families in six villages in the area. The nursery is growing seedlings for cocoa plants, Mahoni trees (used for timber) and other trees in order to provide free seedlings to local farmers to enable them to diversify their crops. The project employs 40 men from the local community who work at the nursery and some of the 300 farmers are already in discussions on how to set up a co-operative to sell their produce once they have planted their new crops.
