Nicknamed "Colossus" the Nazi building complex at Prora is a series of eight identical buildings that span 4.5 kilometers along the Baltic coast on Germany's Rugen Island. It was envisioned by Hitler as a grand holiday resort that could accommodate 20,000 guests at a time but three years after construction started in 1936 war had broken out and the buildings were never used for their intended purpose.
