The San Yue Jie (third moon) festival is held annually in Dali, Yunnan Province, China. The festival is over a thousand years old and attracts a million people from different ethnic minority groups around China and neighboring countries such as Burma, as well as the local Bai people. The Festival is famous for its traditional medicine and the body parts of many highly endangered species are in abundance including bear and tiger parts.
